Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have rest pain or a small wound on your leg (Rutherford Category 4 or 5).
  • The blockage is in a natural artery below the knee, not in a graft, and is 5–30 cm long.
  • You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or major bleeding in the past 2–3 months.
  • Your kidneys are working well enough that you are not on dialysis and your creatinine level is normal.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or participating in another investigational study.
