Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with lung cancer or esophageal cancer and are ready to start immunotherapy with a PD-1 or PD-L1 drug.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are able to do most of your daily activities without needing help (ECOG 0 or 1).
  • Your major organs (liver, kidneys, bone marrow) are working well, based on blood tests.
  • Your doctor expects you to live at least 12 more weeks.
  • You do not have active HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C, and you are not at immediate risk from the cancer or on blood thinners that cannot be paused.
