Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with ARDS (a type of severe lung injury) using the latest definition from 2023.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your oxygen level is low, with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 200 or less (a measure of how well your lungs are working).
  • You started using a breathing machine (ventilator) within the past 12 hours.
  • You or your family have agreed to join the study and signed a consent form.
