Adrenomyeloneuropathy Without Cerebral Involvement

This trial tests a small device placed near your spinal cord (called epidural spinal cord stimulation) to see if it can help improve leg movement and stiffness in people with adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN). If you have AMN and trouble walking due to leg stiffness, this study may explore a new option for you.

Who can take part

  • You must have a genetic test showing you have adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN).
  • Your legs need to be stiff or tight due to increased muscle tone (affecting both legs).
  • You should be able to communicate clearly and fill out questionnaires without help.
  • You cannot have any metal in your body (like a pacemaker or insulin pump) that would stop you from getting an MRI.
  • You must not be taking blood thinners, muscle relaxants, or seizure medications during the study.
