Who can take part

  • You have a spinal cord injury classified as “AIS Impairment Scale B”
  • Your injury happened more than 6 months ago
  • Your injury level is in the neck-to-upper back area (C7 to T8) with signs of “upper motor neuron” changes
  • You’re 18 or older, and your body size fits the study limits (height 5'1" to 6'3", weight 250 lb or less)
  • An MRI must show spared spinal cord nerve fibers (signals that some working nerve paths remain)
  • You must have enough upper-arm strength to help use a stability aid
