Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 64 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is over 30.
  • You are being seen at a specialized weight loss clinic (the LEAF clinic) or have been referred by your doctor.
  • You are not currently taking antidepressants, thyroid medication, or any other medicine that could affect appetite.
  • You do not have diabetes, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of heart problems.
  • You do not have a personal or family history of seizures, an eating disorder, or a major psychiatric condition like bipolar disorder or psychosis.
