Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 75 years old.
  • You have had Parkinson's disease for at least 3 years and experience freezing of gait (feeling stuck when trying to walk).
  • Your Parkinson's symptoms are severe enough that your doctor recommends deep brain stimulation surgery.
  • You do not have major memory or thinking problems (must score 21 or higher on a thinking test).
  • You do not have medical conditions like bleeding disorders, seizures, or heart disease that make surgery risky.
