Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are a childhood leukemia survivor or a healthy volunteer in the SJLIFE study
- You have low muscle mass (a z-score of -0.5 or lower, based on your lean mass and height)
- You do not have any metal or implanted devices that could interfere with an MRI scan
- You are not pregnant (if female)
- You are not taking any blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, apixaban, coumadin, edoxaban, or rivaroxaban)
- You weigh less than 300 pounds
- You are not allergic to local numbing medicine (lidocaine or bupivacaine)
- You can lie flat on your back for at least 90 minutes
- You do not have a current history of peripheral motor neuropathy (nerve damage causing muscle weakness)
