Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have a blunt or penetrating injury (like from a car crash or fall)
- It has been less than 3 hours since your injury, and you arrived in the trauma room less than 1 hour ago
- You have severe trauma with signs of shock, active bleeding, or a high risk of a blood clotting problem
- You are not pregnant, do not have a known bleeding disorder, and are not taking blood thinners
