Who can take part

  • You have a physical injury from an accident or fall
  • You arrive at the emergency room within 6 hours of the injury
  • Your ER doctor orders a blood clotting test (coagulation profile)
  • You have not received IV fluids, blood, or clot-altering drugs before arriving
  • You do not have chronic liver, kidney, blood, or cancer conditions
  • You are willing to give consent to participate
