Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (LVEF of 40% or less) and symptoms like shortness of breath or fatigue (NYHA class II–IV).
  • Your heart failure is caused by blocked arteries (ischemic heart disease) or a weakened heart muscle (dilated cardiomyopathy).
  • You have COPD that is moderate or worse, meaning a lung test shows your FEV1/FVC ratio is less than 0.7 and your FEV1 is less than 80% of normal.
  • You are not currently taking more than 23.75 mg of metoprolol per day.
