Who can take part

  • Your child is between 1 and 5 years old.
  • Your child has septic shock caused by a hole in the bowel or stomach.
  • Your child does not have a heart condition from birth, severe heart rhythm problems, or obesity.
  • Your child has not had surgery on the chest or belly before this illness.
  • Your child does not have severe lung injury or large amounts of fluid in the belly.
