- You are currently having a severe asthma flare-up (exacerbation) that your doctor is treating with steroid pills (oral corticosteroids)
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding

- Your lung function (FEV1) is at least 40% of your personal best
- You have not had an asthma flare-up in the past 4 weeks
