Magnetic stimulation for ALS: a study on slowing progression

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with possible, probable, or definite ALS (a type of motor neuron disease).
  • Your ALS symptoms started less than 2 years ago.
  • Your ALS symptoms have been getting worse over the past 3 months (a decline of more than 1 point on the ALS functional rating scale).
  • You are currently taking the medication riluzole (50 mg twice a day).
  • Your breathing is good (lung function test shows at least 75% of normal, and you have no trouble breathing when lying down, talking, or swallowing).
