  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of ALS that started on its own (not inherited)
  • Your slow vital capacity (SVC) is at least 50% of what is expected for your age and height
  • You have a measurable motor evoked potential, meaning your nerves can respond to the stimulation
  • You are between 21 and 80 years old
