Who can take part
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be scheduled for robotic chest surgery that uses capnothorax (a small amount of carbon dioxide between your lung and chest wall).
- You should not have a serious heart or lung condition that makes your health status grade 4 or higher on the ASA scale (severe, life-threatening).
- You cannot have advanced COPD (stage 3 or 4).
- A nasogastric tube (a thin tube from your nose to your stomach) must be able to be placed safely.
- You must not need emergency chest surgery for complications.
