Who can take part
- You are scheduled for robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery (belly, urinary, or gynecologic surgery).
- You are at higher risk of lung complications after surgery (either based on a risk score of 26 or more, OR you are over 40, surgery will last more than 2 hours, and you will have an arterial line).
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are able to give written consent to participate.
- You are not pregnant or nursing (if applicable).
- You are not currently in poor health (ASA score 4 or higher, which means very severe illness).
