Who can take part
- You have triple-negative breast cancer that has come back or spread and cannot be cured with surgery or radiation.
- You have not yet had any chemotherapy or other systemic treatment for your advanced breast cancer.
- If you had treatment for early-stage breast cancer, it must have completed at least 6 months before the cancer returned.
- You must be healthy enough to receive pembrolizumab and at least one of the standard chemotherapy options (paclitaxel, nab-paclitaxel, or gemcitabine with carboplatin).
- Any side effects from past cancer treatments must have mostly gone away (except for hair loss or skin color changes).
- You do not have active or uncontrolled infections, heart disease, lung disease, or other serious medical conditions.
