Who can take part

  • You are 25 to 80 years old and have type 2 diabetes.
  • Your last A1C blood test was between 6.5% and 8.5%.
  • You have had stomach problems (like nausea or diarrhea) from metformin or could not take the full dose.
  • Your diabetes pills have been at the same dose for at least 6 months.
  • You are willing to give stool samples and wear a glucose monitor.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or using any other herbal supplement for diabetes.
