Stem cell therapy for recent brain bleed

This trial tests whether stem cells can help people recover from a recent, moderate-sized brain bleed (intracerebral hemorrhage). The stem cells are given to reduce damage and improve healing during the first days after the bleed. It may be an option if you had a stroke from a bleed 3 to 10 days ago and you otherwise are in stable health.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You had a bleed in the brain (not from injury or other causes) and it's been 3 to 10 days since it started.
  • The size of the bleed is between 15 and 30 mL (roughly the size of a small egg).
  • You do not have serious medical conditions like cancer, autoimmune disease, recent stroke with disability, or unstable vital signs.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you have not had surgery or plan to have surgery to remove the clot.
  • Your blood tests show good liver, kidney, and blood cell function, and you are not taking blood thinners making your INR too high.
