Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You had a traumatic brain injury confirmed by a CT scan within the last 48 hours.
  • You are on a breathing machine (ventilator) and have a very low level of consciousness (GCS score 8 or less), but at least one pupil reacts to light.
  • You do not have other serious health problems like cancer, severe organ failure, or a weak immune system.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing, and you do not have a history of bleeding or clotting problems.
