Finding markers of relapsing nerve inflammation in children

Acute Disseminated EncephalomyelitisEncephalitis Autoimmune

Treatments studied

Part of Brain & nervous system, Immune system & allergy clinical trials.

This study looks at children who have had a first attack of nerve inflammation (like ADEM, vision loss, or spinal cord issues) to find markers in the blood that might show if it will come back. It tests blood and cells to better understand the immune response.

Predicting recovery in children with ADEM

This study looks at children having their first episode of ADEM (a brain inflammation that can happen after an infection) to find markers that may predict recovery. If your child fits the age range and had an MRI and spinal tap within the first week of symptoms, they may be able to join.

Pediatric brain inflammation registry for Swiss patients

This study is a registry that collects health information from children and teens in Switzerland diagnosed with certain inflammatory brain and spinal cord conditions. It helps researchers understand these illnesses better over time and may guide future treatments.

Study of CNS inflammatory demyelinating diseases

This study follows people with certain inflammatory conditions of the brain and spinal cord (like MS, NMOSD, or MOGAD) to learn more about their disease. If you join, you will help researchers understand these conditions better.

Biomarkers in nervous system autoimmune diseases

This study looks for biomarkers (biological clues) in people with autoimmune diseases of the nervous system. It aims to discover better ways to diagnose and treat these conditions.

Understanding ADEM Outcomes in Children

This study helps doctors better understand what happens to children with ADEM (a rare brain and spinal cord inflammation) and what factors predict how well they recover. By learning more about outcomes, doctors hope to improve treatment plans.
