Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 months and 18 years old
  • Your child has symptoms of acute brain inflammation (confusion, weakness, difficulty moving) affecting multiple parts of the body
  • Your child has an MRI showing signs of demyelinating lesions (damaged nerve coating in the brain or spinal cord)
  • Your child does not have multiple sclerosis or neuromyelitis optica (other demyelinating conditions)
  • Your child does not have infectious encephalitis (brain infection from virus or bacteria)
  • Your child does not have metabolic or genetic neurological disorders
