Who can take part
- You must have a type of rectal cancer called adenocarcinoma that is locally advanced (has spread into nearby tissues or lymph nodes) but can still be surgically removed.
- Your tumor must be mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) or microsatellite stable (MSS).
- You must be between 18 and 75 years old and in generally good health, able to perform daily activities with little or no help.
- You cannot have received any prior cancer treatment for this rectal cancer, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
- Your blood counts, liver, and kidney function must be within certain limits, as determined by standard lab tests.
- You must not have active autoimmune disease, serious infections, or other significant medical conditions that might interfere with the treatment.
