Who can take part
- You must have a diagnosis of alcohol use disorder (AUD) from a doctor, and your drinking habits should be heavy (AUDIT score of 15 or higher).
- In the last 30 days, you must have had at least 6 days of heavy drinking (5+ drinks for men, 4+ for women).
- You cannot have a serious mental health condition like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or intellectual disability.
- You cannot be using any other drugs (like cocaine, marijuana, opioids, or benzodiazepines) besides alcohol or nicotine.
- You must be able to undergo an MRI brain scan (no metal implants, pacemaker, or severe claustrophobia).
- If you are female and could become pregnant, you must not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy, and use effective birth control.
