Comparing two drugs for first-line treatment of advanced lung cancer

Who can take part

  • You have advanced (stage IV) non-small cell lung cancer that has spread or cannot be cured with surgery or radiation.
  • Your cancer has high levels of a protein called PD-L1 (determined by a test on a tumor sample).
  • You have not had any prior cancer treatment for advanced lung cancer (like chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy).
  • Your cancer does not have certain gene changes (EGFR, ALK, or ROS1) that can be treated with targeted drugs.
  • You are in good enough health to be up and about (WHO/ECOG score 0 or 1), with a life expectancy of at least 12 weeks.
  • You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan (CT or MRI) and has not been treated with radiation.
