  • You are 18 or older
  • You have cardiogenic shock (very low blood pressure, high lactic acid, and signs of organs not getting enough blood)
  • You are already on a heart-lung bypass machine (VA-ECMO) for heart failure
  • You do not have severe aortic valve problems or a torn aorta
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
