Who can take part

  • Your baby was born before 33 weeks of pregnancy (up to 32 weeks and 6 days).
  • Your baby has low blood flow from the heart (measured by ultrasound as SVC flow less than 51 ml/kg/min).
  • You or the legal representative sign a consent form agreeing to the study.
  • Your baby is not already on dobutamine treatment.
  • Your baby does not have severe fluid buildup (hydrops) needing drainage before the study.
  • Your baby does not have heart defects, diaphragmatic hernia, or other major birth problems that affect the heart.
