- You are a male, or a female who is not pregnant and not planning to become pregnant, and not breastfeeding.
- You have had a blood test showing very high triglycerides (880 mg/dL or higher) at least once in the past.
- You have had at least one episode of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) in the last 5 years that was not caused by something else.
- You are willing to follow a low-fat diet and keep it stable during the study.
- You are already taking standard medications for high triglycerides, unless you cannot tolerate them or they didn't work for you.
- You do not have serious heart disease, kidney failure, or advanced liver disease.
