Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old
  • You either have high cholesterol or are a healthy volunteer
  • Healthy volunteers must have a BMI between 19 and 26 and weigh at least 50 kg (men) or 45 kg (women)
  • You have not taken any omega-3, probiotics, or plant sterol supplements in the last month
  • You have not used antibiotics, cholesterol-lowering drugs, or anti-diarrhea medicines in the past 2 months
  • You do not drink more than 2 alcoholic drinks per day
