Who can take part

  • You had a fine-needle aspiration of your thyroid (a small sample of cells taken with a needle).
  • The report from that test said the cells were 'suspicious for papillary thyroid cancer.'
  • The cells in your sample were well-preserved and not damaged by inflammation, blood, or drying.
  • You also have a surgical biopsy or surgery to remove the thyroid to confirm the diagnosis.
