This trial tests if a common anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) can reduce sudden increases in bone pain after radiation treatment for cancer that has spread to the bones. You may be eligible if you have solid tumors with painful bone metastases and are not already taking steroids or NSAIDs.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a solid tumor that has spread to your bones (bone metastases)
  • Your bone pain is not complicated by a fracture or nerve problems
  • You have at least mild pain (score 2 or more out of 10)
  • You are on a steady dose of painkillers (narcotics) that has not changed recently
  • You are not currently taking steroids or NSAIDs, and you do not have conditions that make NSAIDs unsafe for you
