Who can take part
- You have chest pain or silent ischemia (reduced blood flow to the heart without symptoms) and are eligible for a stent procedure.
- You are over 18 years old.
- You have a complete blockage (chronic total occlusion) in a major heart artery that has been there for at least 3 months, and the blockage is in the first or middle part of that artery.
- You do not have a bleeding disorder, are not pregnant, and do not have severe liver or kidney problems.
- You are not currently having a heart attack, and the blockage is not in a graft or previously stented area.
