Who can take part

  • You have paralysis on one side of your diaphragm that has lasted for at least a year.
  • You are scheduled for robot-assisted thoracic surgery at one of the participating hospitals in Gothenburg, Linköping, Lund, Umeå, or Uppsala.
  • Your diaphragm paralysis is not caused by a neuromuscular disease (like muscular dystrophy).
  • You don't have another major reason for shortness of breath (like severe lung or heart disease).
  • You can complete forms in Swedish.
  • Your physical limitations come mainly from the diaphragm problem, not from other conditions.
