Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have metabolic syndrome (belly fat plus at least two of: high triglycerides, low good cholesterol, high blood pressure, or high blood sugar).
  • You do not have other liver diseases like hepatitis.
  • You drink little or no alcohol (less than 2 drinks/day for men, 1 drink/day for women).
  • You are not pregnant, do not have active cancer or advanced liver scarring, and do not take steroids or similar drugs affecting metabolism.
