Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia (severe throat pain from an unknown cause) by a doctor.
  • Medicines for the pain either did not work or caused bad side effects.
  • You are scheduled to get pulsed radiofrequency treatment for this pain.
  • You do not have nerve pain on both sides of your throat.
  • You are not currently taking blood thinners or have bleeding problems.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
