Keto diet for acromegaly

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have acromegaly from a pituitary tumor, with elevated GH and/or IGF-I levels
  • Your IGF-I level is above 80% of the upper limit of normal while on a stable medication dose for at least 4 months
  • You are willing and able to follow a ketogenic diet
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you have not had pituitary surgery or radiotherapy in the last 6 months
  • You do not have epilepsy, are not taking the drug pegvisomant, and do not have poorly controlled diabetes (HbA1c above 6.5%)
