- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You are scheduled for elective septoplasty (nose surgery to fix a crooked septum)
- You are in good general health (classified as ASA I or II by your doctor)
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or less
- You do not have a history of acid reflux or hiatal hernia
- You are not pregnant
- You do not have any condition that might make it hard to place a breathing tube
