- You are having surgery for thyroid cancer
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You are in good general health (ASA grade I or II)
- You can communicate and follow instructions normally
- You do not have serious heart or lung problems
- You do not have a slow heart rate (below 60 beats per minute) or a heart block
- You do not have nerve or mental health conditions
- Your liver and kidneys are working normally
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
