Who can take part

  • You were just diagnosed with cardiogenic shock (very low blood pressure) after a heart attack, and it's been less than 4 hours.
  • Your shock is at a moderate stage (B or C on the SCAI scale) – not too mild or too severe.
  • Your overall health is good enough that you can stay on the Efferon CT blood-filtering device for at least 4 hours.
  • Your SOFA score (measure of organ function) is 12 or lower, meaning your organs are not failing badly.
  • You do not have certain conditions like broken-heart syndrome, recent heart attack, severe kidney disease on dialysis, or cancer/autoimmune treatments.
