Who can take part

  • You have a type of thyroid cancer (papillary, follicular, Hurthle cell, or poorly differentiated) that has spread and is no longer controlled by radioactive iodine.
  • Your cancer has gotten worse within the last 12 months, based on scans.
  • You have not had any other treatment for this type of cancer before, aside from radioactive iodine.
  • You are 18 years or older and able to swallow pills.
  • You are in generally good health (able to do most daily activities) and have adequate organ function (kidneys, liver, bone marrow).
