Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of familial hypercholesterolemia (a genetic condition that causes very high cholesterol).
  • Men need to be at least 40 years old, and women at least 50 years old.
  • You must be able to understand French and fill out a questionnaire.
  • If you take cholesterol, blood pressure, or diabetes medication, your doses must be stable for at least 1 month (or 3 months for some diabetes drugs).
  • You cannot have had a previous heart attack, stroke, or any artery-opening procedure.
  • No severe kidney problems, active cancer, recent steroid use, or untreated thyroid issues.
