Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have sudden hearing loss in one ear that started within 72 hours and has lasted 14 days or less
- The hearing loss is moderate to severe (hearing test shows loss over 50 dB on average)
- The hearing in your affected ear is at least 30 dB worse than your healthy ear
- You have not been on steroids for more than 10 days
- You have no history of ear surgery (except ear tubes), previous hearing loss, or other ear diseases like Meniere's
