Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must be able to breathe on your own and not need a breathing machine.
  • Your oxygen levels must be stable (above 90% saturation or a certain oxygen-to-blood ratio).
  • Your heart rate and blood pressure must be in a safe range, and you are not on strong blood pressure medications.
  • You must already have a small tube in your nose to measure breathing pressure, or be willing to have one placed.
  • You cannot be pregnant or have certain nose, throat, or bleeding problems.
