- Your child is 4 to 7 years old.
- At least one baby molar (back tooth) is infected or dead and needs a root canal (called a pulpectomy).
- Your child is generally cooperative and can sit through dental treatment.
- Your child is healthy and does not have serious medical conditions.
- The affected tooth is not too loose, does not have deep decay below the gum line, and is not close to falling out on its own.
