A study on heart pump therapy and stress echo for advanced heart failure

Symptomatic Congestive Heart Failure

This trial tests how well a heart stress ultrasound (dobutamine echo) can predict if you will get better from a special heart device called cardiac contractility modulation (CCM). CCM is a pacemaker-like implant for people with advanced heart failure who still have symptoms even with the best medicines. The study will help doctors know which patients benefit the most from this device.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have heart failure with symptoms even after trying the best medicines.
  • Your heart's pumping strength is below 50% (low ejection fraction).
  • You have already been told you might get a CCM device based on current guidelines.
  • In the last year, you have been hospitalized, gone to the ER, or had at least one day visit for heart failure treatment that lasted over 4 hours (including IV heart medication).
