Who can take part
- You must have had asthma for at least 2 years and have a type called eosinophilic asthma (a high level of certain white blood cells in your blood).
- You must have had at least 2 asthma flare-ups in the last year that needed steroid pills or shots.
- Your asthma is not well controlled (score over 1.5 on a short questionnaire) and your lung function is below 80% of normal.
- You cannot be a current smoker or former smoker with a history of 20 pack-years or more. Vaping is not allowed.
- You must be willing to have a bronchoscopy procedure (with a camera into your lungs and small tissue samples taken) and have no bleeding risks or other lung diseases besides asthma.
