Who can take part

  • Your baby was born premature and is currently in the NICU
  • Your baby has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus after a brain bleed
  • Your baby has a small drainage port placed under the skin to remove extra brain fluid
  • Your baby is medically stable enough to be moved for a scan
  • Your baby is not allergic to iodine or the dye used in the scan

Preventing fluid buildup after severe brain bleed

This trial tests whether a special medication given directly into the brain's fluid spaces can prevent fluid buildup (hydrocephalus) after a severe brain bleed. If you've had a severe aneurysm bleed with bleeding into the brain's cavities and already have a drain tube in place, you may be able to join.
