Who can take part
- You are 21 years old or younger at the time you start the treatment part of the study.
- You have high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that is newly diagnosed, related to previous cancer treatment, or has come back. You must be in complete remission before and after the transplant.
- You are planning to have your first stem cell transplant from a donor (related, unrelated, or partially matched).
- You have not received this specific drug combination (ASTX727) before, but you may have had decitabine.
- Your kidneys, liver, and blood counts must work well enough before starting the study treatment.
- You can swallow tablets whole (no feeding tube use for the study drug).
