Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You must have had hepatitis B for at least 6 months and have a positive hepatitis B surface antigen test.
- You must have experienced your first serious liver complication (like fluid buildup in the belly, bleeding from the esophagus, confusion, or kidney problems) due to cirrhosis.
- You cannot have other liver diseases such as hepatitis A, C, D, E, HIV, autoimmune liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, or drug-induced liver disease.
- You cannot have a history of certain cancers, severe organ problems, or mental health conditions like depression or schizophrenia.
- You cannot have taken Fuzheng Huayu or similar traditional Chinese medicines in the past 6 months.
